User Task Analysis: Before vs. After
Four User Task Analysis have been conducted with the old site and the redesigned site. Participants were four volunteering undergraduate students of a Northeastern College in each the "before" session and the "after" session.
The users were asked to perform these tasks and were recorded using Eye Tracking and video observation technology. After the task was complete, users were given a debriefing statement.
The idea of having a "before" and an "after" session is to assess pitfalls in the current design ("before" session) and understand how the redesign overcomes the issues of the original design.
Due to privacy concerns, we cannot release the participant videos for download. Sorry.
The main finding of the "before" session is that the lack of structure confuses the user and prohibits her from finding a certain item. Resolving this issue is of prime importance for the redesigned site.
